Wonder if anyone can come up w a real reason to vote for McCain
Doing ANYTHING to assist Hillary Clinton in securing power over the government and military is completely asinine.

Thank you for your lone voice of reason.....

"Doing ANYTHING to assist Hillary Clinton in securing power over the government and military is completely asinine..." Voting for someone who is only marginally better and perhaps, in some respects, even worse than Hillary or Obama is not something that Conservatives can do.
Yes, he served his country in the military. Yes, he was a POW. Perhaps he was even a hero. In response to the "Liberal" things he's done as a Republican Senator, I think I will borrow one of Senator McCain's recent statements, "I won't dignify that with an answer". He is not and probably never has been a Conservative and his repeated betrayals of the Conservative Base are despicable. The fact that he has a temper is forgiveable; many of us have a temper as well and that's why he's in such deep 'stuff'.
The bottom line is that whether or not I vote for him is irrelevant; what matters is whether the majority of Republicans and Independents who tend toward "Conservative" can overcome their distaste and vote for him. Maybe enough of them can to make him our next President (but I can't and I won't).

Spot on! Ronald Reagan has the same problem during his campaign for the presidency as John McCain has now. The conservatives and the Ronald Reagan Democrats did not see eye to eye then. It was to the credit to Ronald Reagan that he was able to build a coalition of many diverse interests to bring a landslide victory. Thank God Ronald Reagan had the wisdom to make it work for we would still be fighting the Cold War if Jimmy Carter had won reelection. And the Muslims would have caused more havoc for this nation.
