A do-over for the Democrats? Resolution seeks new caucus vote

**EXCERPT**

Left without a full slate of candidates to choose from - or assurances their votes will count in the presidential race - many Michigan Democrats felt disappointed after participating in the state's early presidential primary last month.

Now, with the race between U.S. Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama still undecided, party officials in Ann Arbor are among the several groups asking for a do-over.

Members of the Ann Arbor City Democratic Party were to consider a resolution supporting a 2008 presidential caucus at their regular meeting Saturday. The measure was added to their agenda Thursday amid a swell of support from Democrats statewide who were reacting to inconclusive results from Super Tuesday contests.

Do overs that work in Hillary’s favor are going to alienate the blacks in a major way.

Again, I find it difficult to understand the blind loyalty black Democrats give to the party. The white party leaders love them during the campaign but it’s the back of the bus when the election is over. Happens every election cycle and they go for it like a Pavlovian lab experiment.

These caucuses are bunk. Whatever happened to the”secret” ballot? Who wants to go to somebody’s house and stand in a corner for a few hours while everyone can see who you’re voting for? I think caucuses were invented by party activists to diminish turnout and intimidate the people who do show up.

Why have roll call votes in congress? If people are ashamed of their decisions made in our form of self government, maybe they should not be making decisions.

It is time to abolish the secrete ballot, voting was not always secrete, and the secrete ballot helped set the stage for the explosive growth in the government.

Oh, they know that, they just don't care about the consequences.

I really think, the clintons will push and fracture their party so much that we could see not a convention floor fight but a out and out fight on the streets outside the convention.

Much as I detest the dems views I hope it doesn't come to that, but after Bill is done restacking delegates it'll be likely.

Does anyone know what the delegate count would be for the Dim candidates if the MI and FL primaries counted at the convention? I bet the slicksters do!
