“Try sending your kid to school with a peanut butter (one of the only things she consistently eats containing protein) sandwich and receiving a letter stating that one child in school is allergic to peanuts therefore no one is allowed to send peanut butter to school.”

It hasn’t happened here - yet, but I’m waiting.

Those peanut allergies can be very deadly, and I always wind up thinking to myself “if I knew my child could DIE simply by being next to a peanut butter sandwich....would I send him/her off to that school every day?”

I don’t think I would.

You could ban it all, and still - someone somewhere will have some peanut residue on them from breakfast - or won’t realize it is present in some oil on their granola bar.
And that could result in your child’s death?

That child should be home, with the parents carefully monitoring playgroups and other activities.
