Hmm, that sounds good, we’ll have to try it. I’ve seen Paula Deen use canned cornbeef with cabbage.

I have a personal theory about squirrels that I’m into my second year of testing on...If you feed squirrels enough hazelnuts, will it flavor them when you go to roast them?? (I’m applying for a Federa Grant if either McCain or the hildebeest get elected...)

I figger if things ever get too crazy, we have enough succulent common tree rat within five miles of the house to keep us going for months...

Squirrel is quite tasty by the way...makes a great stew...long, slow, moist heat. I can’t imagine how nasty they would taste cooked on a popcorn cooker like Huckabee recommends though...

Cheers!

When using butter or lard, by the cup, just oil the cup with veg. oil, schmoosh the soft ingredient down into the cup and it comes right out. When I have to measure honey, I oil the spoon or cup before pouring in the honey, it too slides right out.

... have regional primary days. For example SE States, then NE, Northern Mid west, Gulf states, Great Plains, SW states, then Pacific Coast. Rotate it so that each region gets the chance to be 1st.

That sounds like a great way to deal with it. Candidates would have their chances to campaign in each region.

That, and making it a Republican priority to ASAP require presentation of photo ID to vote. A minimal step that could have huge consequences.

I believe that Gray Davis was not recalled because people didn't like him -- he was recalled because they knew they hadn't elected him. Elections by fraud have false leaders and people eventually rebel.

It must be a southern thing. My mother used Miracle Whip and my wife does too. I have eaten regular mayonnaise in potato salad but it just doesn’t taste right, and I’m sure it’s habit of many years eating it with Miracle Whip.

Huck discussing Rush reminds me of Dr. Strangelove when the President is talking to Dimitri.

Huck: I love Rush.

Rush: no comment.

Huck, NO, I love him more!

I was disappointed in Fred’s endorsement also, but at least he held off until it was a fait accompli, or seems to be.

We always knew they were friends. I do not regard this as a betrayal of conservatism as some seem to.

Believe it or not, popcorn cookers work great. That is all we could have when I was in college and we managed to cook all kinds of things in it. Even a cake. (laughing)l The trick to using one is it only has one heat setting: hot as hell. So one has to watch it and vary the time on the heating coil accordingly.

President Bush is a fine man, indeed, and does not deserve the criticism he has received.

‘They’say he’s not conservative. I say he is.

He’s fought and won for lower taxes. He has relentlessly opposed devaluing life, as in embryonic stem cell research and abortion.

He’s taken our enemies seriously and kept us safe, ignoring all the naysayers.

People ignore all that because of a couple of issues he’s disappointed them on.

And they just hate that he’s an unrelentingly nice guy, even to his enemies who would never be nice to him.

You can send McCain a message, but will he hear it?

He has tunnel vision to the max.

I’m very interested in the veep nominee. If it is a real conservative, I would be more likely to vote for McCain.

McCain’s age and health would make a VP important, except that his mother (in her 90’s) looks better than I do.

He probably inherited those genes.

Everyone:

If you haven’t heard ALL of Ann Coulter’s ‘not at CPAC/CPAC’ speech, take the time (about 45 mins.) and watch the whole thing, all the way to the Q&A at the end. She lays it all out in her inimitable way.

It’s also uplifting to see the hopeful young college Pubbie activists who are so engaged and informed = the future of this country.

And I don’t mean UPS.

Kinda makes you wonder, doesn’t it, that maybe there’s a secret agreement to trade the presidency between parties at least every 8 years?

Nah... couldn’t be.
