you write: “This has been an issue for years. I made a decision 15 years ago to not agree with this urban training, and I still stand by it today.”

FINE, STAND BY IT, STANDING BY IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU RIGHT; IT MAKES YOU LOOK............LIBERAL...

Thanks. I am very proud of my son and the decision that he has made.

At the same time, I am a little fearful of what serving under a Democrat CinC may bring to all our military. I was just listening on the radio to a speech that Hillary gave, I believe in Arlington.

She talks about a sixty day pullout from Iraq; then a fumbling statement about dealing with the chaos that would ensue. The prospect of that incoherent mess is making me rethink my intention of not voting for McCain.

Another outrage!

A company of (Michigan) Marine Corps Reservists received a cold send-off from downtown Toledo (OHIO) yesterday by order of Mayor Carty Finkbeiner.

Ohio and Michigan Freepers, scramble for intercept!

I didn’t say there weren’t any conservatives there.

Is it a reasonable overall characterization of the majority, and reflective of who they put into political office, or not?

Yeah, at least the old-school UAW Democrats didn’t hate the country.

And further, a lot of them in that era were probably Reagan Democrats.

"He did not want them practicing and drilling in a highly visible area."

Hmm. The Boston militia drilled on Boston Common, right under the noses of General Gage's troops. No one was alarmed or frightened, except General Gage and his troops.

I guess the mayor hasn’t heard that there is crime in his town.

Agree I do not like to see documentaries or Military Channel episodes about our military capabilities. We need to put classified / secret back in the military at all levels as essential elements of friendly information can be used against our troops. Items and capabilities from Rations to Radiation need to never be seen by anyone other than the manufacturer and end user.

Only change I’d make in recruiting offices would be to co-locate them in post offices around the nation. Cities with populations less than 80k use traveling recruiter teams for career days, job fairs etc etc .....

Train in secret or yer just asking for trouble down the road. No urban warfare training in cities IMO. Train as you fight , real shoot houses, old base housing complexes, established training centers, etc .....

Only thing I want too hear from an active duty serviceman at a press conference is that the presstitutes need to shine their shoes and get haircuts etc .....:o)

Dear Mayor Finkbeiner:

Shame of you! Your hostility toward our own sons and daughters is traitorous. You sir, do not understand the ideals of defending freedom and liberty, the very foundation of this country rests on the continued training of our brave fighting forces, The United States Military.

Your hostilities will be known to your fellow countrymen. You will feel the effects of your obvious disdain for our country.

Respectfully,

Julie
Indiana
