I stopped somewhere around "real war hero."

I can understand a "draft Gen. Patton" movement, or a "draft U.S. Grant" movement or a "draft Marine Captain X who happened to single-handedly kill 500 Sunnis last summer," but I do NOT understand a "let's draft the guy who managed to get himself captured" movement. When you combine that with a questionable decision, on McCain's part, to cover up P.O.W. records and a complete disregard for the Constitution, the "real war hero" stuff just like it's meant to induce vomiting.

All conservative advocacy groups should endure some sort of summer re-education program, if they are headquarted anywhere near the beltway.

"...Here you have a war hero taking control of your party..."

This is insight into why liberals cannot be trusted. McCain served honorably in my opinion, though not with distinction and had the bad luck to nearly get killed by one of our own missiles, then to get shot down and badly injured by the enemy.

Liberals think that makes him a hero. This is no surprise, since they thought John Kerry was a war hero.

This is not to disparage John McCain's conduct, I think he did the best he could. There WERE real heroes who were POW's.

THIS man, one of MY personal heroes, for example:

It is illustrative to see how the POS who wrote this opinion piece treated Admiral Stockdale when he was running with Perot.

And there were others. Denton, Risner, Day, and so many others. McCain survived and deserves my respect enduring that experience, but all his energies were put into surviving.

Yeah but with him at least there’s that possibility.

It’s baffling to me that people actually think there’s a creature out there AS liberal as Shrillary, let alone more so.

Why? Because he is a Mexican at heart. He believes that every Mexican-American, including those who have lived for generations in the USA, should apply for dual citizenship, and consider themselves Mexicans first, “to the 8th generation.”

The argument that goes “McCain can win” is the worst one of all. THAT is the problem.

I remember when NR was a traditionally conservative publication back in the 70s and 80s and I enjoyed reading it immensely. But, sometime in the 90s, it got infiltrated by war happy social and economic liberals. What happened?

Sure, he’s a little nutty after all those years getting his bones re-broken every six months at the Hanoi Hilton

Nutty is nutty. We're talking about the Presidency here. McCain has too many personal problems which are going to cause problems if he actually gets elected. They always do.

See any difference there?

I am a moderate republican and I’m voting for McCain based on his entire record of service to America.

What does it mean to be a moderate Republican? What are your signature issues that you think 'far-right' conservatives should adopt?

Are we even sure he’s hispanic? He just looks like a white guy with greasy hair and a Spanish-sounding last name.

The far right had better get it’s act together and vote for McCain or it will get exactly what it deserves——an atheistic, socialist village under Hillaricare.

Actually the left-wing of the party better get its act together, you have brought this on us, not the other way around. Anyone on this board for any length of time would have known this was going to happen.

McCain=Stay at home for me, and the left-wing RINO's can thank themselves for the result.

"You conservatives?" this nitwit writes. Guy's got a bugger of a self-esteem problem-----lowlifes like him can only feel superior by exhibiting disdain and contempt for others. This one needs professional help---fast.

=====================================================

McCain better understand, the obstacles to his winning high office are: Lieberman, Hernandez, Kristols--pere et fils, and Giuliani---who have a death grip on his campaign.

There can be no dialogues with conservatives unless he dumps these types. Then and only then will conservatives engage.........and lay out our demands.

============================================

BGRND Faker Lieberman lied his way into office---he took a poll and knew pro-life votes were there for the taking. Lieberman calculatedly told religious pro-life leaders, he would be good on abortion (against pro-abortion incumbent Weicker). When Lieberman got in w/ pro-life votes, he showed his true colors, becoming the Senate's most ardent abortion facilitator---voting six separate times for p/b abortion.

Billy Kristol's daddy was Giuliani's foreign policy "campaign adviser." The Kristols were forced to drop loser RINO Rudy and b/c they have a total lack of principles---they joined up with the perfect partner for the unprincipled----McCain.

Billy Kristol (Fox pundit) and his daddy are cheerleaders for the current admin's most destructive polices----including the failed amnesty provisions. These people are a shadow government intent on destroying the political process they abhor---religious cleansing of the Repub party and kicking conservatives to the curb.

Billy Kristol and his daddy are in that nauseating group of big-government globalists. Daddy announced the shape of things to come, and I quote: "The historical task and political purpose of neoconservatism would seem to be.....to convert the Republican Party and American conservatism in general, against their respective wills, into a new kind of conservative politics suitable to governing a modern democracy." By Irving Kristol (little Billy's daddy)

Sickening. Sorry, I won't lift their poison to my lips with my own hands.

THIRD WORLD HERE WE COME The presence of Juan Hernandez lurking in the background of the McCain campaign tells us that McCain is taking orders from pere/fils Kristol, backers of the failed amnesty bill and facilitators of Bush's losing illegal amnesty policy. Dual Mexican citizen Hernendez was in Vicente Fox’s Mexican government.....He is as open borders as you can get.

MORE ON THE SHADOW GOVERNMENT'S AGENDA-- AMNESTY'S $2.6 TRILLION TAX BILL. The Heritage Foundation reports that illegals' poverty level is roughly double native-born Americans which means they suckup mucho tax-paid benefits. Lax evidentiary standards would encourage millions more to apply for amnesty fraudulently. There is no numeric limit on the number of amnesties granted; actual numbers could be far higher.

Iillegals and family members get same benefits as US citizens. Children born here to illegals, including Z visa holders, are eligible for all welfare benefits from birth to death. Adult Z visa holders and their foreign-born children are eligible for medical care under Medicaid Disproportionate Share Program. Z visa holders get valid SS #'s--and eligibility for EITC and Additional Child Tax Credit--which also provide cash welfare assistance.

No matter employment history, amnesty recipients are eligible for 60 different federal welfare programs five years after legal permanent residence. At retirement, total benefits OUTSTRIP TAXES PAID BY ROUGHLY 7-1. Read more at heritage.org

Arizona Sen McCain needs to explain Arizona's federal and state funding for the years-long facilitation of border-crossing via the Arizona-Mexico Commission, and the Border Infrastructure Project implemented in collaboration with federal (and state and local government agencies)........that's OUR tax dollars. --SNIP-- FROM THE ARIZONA-MEXICO COMMISSION WEB SITE http://www.azmc.org/
