Who here wants to bet that he WILL NOT run a third party campaign?
To: 2ndDivisionVet
In a message to supporters sent just before 11 p.m. Friday night, Representative Ron Paul, a long-shot G.O.P. candidate from Texas, basically conceded that hes not going to win the partys nomination.See? Toldja the meds would finally kick in, eventually. ;)

Yeah but... has he said anything definite about which planet he actually came from?
I’m in the betting pool for some place in the Alpha Centauri system.
It is close as stars go, and he does dang near pull off that whole “act human” thing.

I’ll bet he won’t. His strategy was to win just enough delegates to be an influence at a brokered convention.
He is a Member of Congress, and has a handful of delegates, and thus will get time to speak at the convention.
The RNC should treat him with respect and schedule his speech as they would any other GOP candidate who has made it this far.
But they probably won’t, which goes to show you just how narrow the window of acceptable political discourse has become.

Im in the betting pool for some place in the Alpha Centauri system. No, no, no. He was on his way TO Alpha Centauri, along with Don, Judy, Will, Penny and The Robot, when their ship got knocked off course and they all ended up...

What is going to be interesting is to see the demographics of what his supporters do now the only McCain is left(PUN INTENDED). Exit polling should take a moment and ask the question, who did you support before your candidate dropped out?
I think an interesting thing will be seen, and confirm what I've been saying all along. There were really only 7-12 actual Wrong Paul supporters who stay up all night on Red Bull and Mt. Dew binges FReeping polls.
To: oblomov
He was supported by 9/11 truthers, KKK and Neo-Nazi types, Birkenstockers and assorted other lunatic fringe kooks. You can’t blame the GOP if they don’t need those kind of associations. Heck, the guy with the presumptive nomination is crazier than a sh*thouse rat, already!
To: KentTrappedInLiberalSeattle
I guess I can spill it now. Selling secrets is trendy enough. Just tell me you work for the NYT and it should all be ok.
Now, the truth, finally, after all these years.
He was actually trying to return home to AC. That ship got knocked off course because the good and decent folk of AC did not want him back.
When they banish someone, they tend to mean it. You ever notice how many bizarros there are around our little planet?
yeah, well, we do not have representation at the Galactic Conference of Civilized Worlds, so guess where all the undesirables and unwanteds get sent?

Who here wants to bet that he WILL NOT run a third party campaign?I'll take that action and even give you eight to five odds.... virtually. LOL
Paul is a patriot. He's a loon, but he is definitely OUR loon. He's had in mind, all along, running for re-election in his district, hence the fund raising online. He knew he'd never win the GOP nomination for POTUS, but now he has one heckuva large war chest for what is essentially a local race. There has always been a method to the madness.

He was also supported by many conscientious conservatives and libertarians in the GOP who found his anti-statist message a refreshing contrast to the socialist Dems and the “tax collectors for the welfare state” in the GOP race.
What about the troofers, neo-nazis, and KKK members that support McCain, Huckabee, or Hillary? Certainly there are some.

If he agrees to endorse the nominee and to explain why that nominee is better per Ron Paul’s issues than the Democratic alternative. they should let him speak at the convention.
