What is even worse is a forced upgrade to IE7 with this month’s patches. :(

Make the jump to Mozilla Firefox and you’ll never look back.

I just bought a new Dell laptop with XP. When I went to get the latest downloads from Microsoft, they slipped IE 7 into the mix without me signing off on it.

At least at the end of the download package, they asked if I wanted to install IE 7 or not. I couldn’t hit the no button fast enough! So they removed it from my temp files.

Too bad you didn’t have that option.

You don’t have to install it.

I have never accepted updates or patches from MS. I just turn off updates. I do read independent bulletins and manually go downloads updates that seem useful.
