To: my_pointy_head_is_sharp

Reminds me of the old Ford engine that Ford stopped manufacturing because it wasn’t breaking down enough to be financially pragmatic (as in the cost of repairs). Same concept here I guess. Semi-stable product = semi-unstable profit.

Last one like that after the FE block engines was the inline 305 6 cylinder. A friend had one in a pickup and got 250,000 miles out of it without opening it up, back when 100,000 was considered a very mature engine...
