PHOENIX (APUPIReuters) - An Arizona man, has petitioned the GOP to legally switch parties.

John McCain, 72, has asked for such an unusual request.

“My friends, I have been trans-partied for the past few years. I feel it is time to fit in to my true liberal identity”

No word yet from GOP officials, who have just annointed McCain as their 2008 Presidential nominee.
