As Chapin said:
that critiquing the behaviors of one sex does not, in itself, suggest that an author hates that sex or has designs to bash them. There is no pathology to be found in critical analysis, but there is much to be found in the practice of showering ismssuch as misogynist, sexist or misandristupon those who document the, occasionally unflattering, characteristics of the opposite sex. Just as there is nothing misandric about highlighting male deficiencies there is nothing misogynistic about outlining the flaws of women [assuming both sets of observations are true]. All are human and none are gods. Recall the words of Kant, From the crooked timber of humanity nothing straight can be made.
Recognizing certain realities (like that men are more likely to be involved in group/gang hierarchy and violence and the mentality thereof is one of the chief producers of misery in our experience) is not bashing women, though sometimes the posts themselves may cross into that territory.
One thing to quote global behaviors -— Another not to have balance or a mirror held in reflection to the whiners.
If you can find one thread ever, posted by females about men with the same degree of vitriol from females here, I’ll be amazed. I know I’ve cataloged at least 25 since December 1st 2007 that are pretty damning and uber-tiring. We are told daily here what’s bad about us from genes to jeans..... and everything wrong with society today is all our fault. The emotional lines are usually crossed from post one and the “...she dun me wrong” is a constant chorus. It’s old. And note, it pisses us off.
Even on the all female chicklit boards, the gender bashing is minimal compared to here......And generally stopped if it gets too out of hand by the posters themselves.... and it’s a ‘girls only’ atmosphere. So oddly, it’s far more fair and balanced.
Which tells me a lot about the mental maturity of many posters.
