Sigh. Who, besides political elitists and globalists, wants their country to be overrun with third-worlders and their diseases and inferior cultures? Have you noticed that our population is being radically altered without our consent? It's not "xenophobic." Wanting to preserve your own country, culture and citizens is healthy and sane. Nice rant, but you miss the point. The gentleman's comment was "xenophobic" because it represented a clearly unthinking (and silly) response to the situation, merely because the people in question are from someplace else. That was the only thing that mattered: different = bad.

A couple of minutes of easy research would have revealed to our friend the manner in which those folks ended up here.

The endemic ill-health of Marshall Islanders is certainly a problem -- but I find that a little context and information (oh, those words, so hated among the mouth-foamers at FR) helps to understand the issue a bit better.

As for "our population ... being radically altered without our consent," that is not true in this case. We have a treaty with the Marhsall Islands, ratified by the Senate, which governs the manner by which Marshall Islanders can be here. Again, a little thought and research does wonders to aid in understanding.
