It was dispiriting to see the amount of anti-Mormon bigotry by Christians. It sure did destroy a lot of illusions I had about religious conservatives, who I've been defending all these years.

It wasn’t being a Mormon that was the problem with Romney. It was not having a credible moral bearing to show, to explain all the flip-flopping.
He was untrustworthy.
