Now that’s a campaign I will support. Bet the RNC won’t back him, just as they didn’t back Tom Coburn of OK when he ran. Today, McCain hauled Coburn in front of the CPAK to vouch for him, because Coburn has much more credibility than McCain has. How ironic.

100% of our effort has to go to supporting conservatives for Congress! The deciding battlefield!

I admit I’d rather see Barletta as the next Governor of PA.

Well, if he’s elected to Congress, he’d have more name ID, which would help him in a future gubenatorial bid.
Actually, I’d rather see him replace The Specter.

It’s unlikely if he won, he’d just as swiftly leave Congress after a single term to head to Harrisburg. As a Chief Executive of his community who earned the endorsement of both parties in his last election, I’d think he’d do far better as Governor than just a freshman or sophomore backbencher out of what may be only about 175-185 House Republicans.

If Barletta beats Kanjorski this November, I could easily see him successfully challenging Specter in the 2010 primary and then beating Rendell or whomever in the general.
The district was built for a Democrat but is still conservative enough that Barletta can win. The PA-11 gave President Bush 47% in 2004, and I think it will be very competitive in a McCain-Hillary matchup. RAT incumbent Paul Kanjorski is ethically challenged, and 2008 doesn’t look like it will be a pro-incumbent election.

Not one thin farthing for McCain. Let him beg for campaign contributions from the people he has represented for the last two-and-a-half decades, the illegal aliens and the democrats.

The money I was going to send to a conservative GOP presidential candidate will go to Barletta instead. Excellent decision. I will also save my money for contributing to conservative represenatives from now on.
