Scalia is 71, C Thomas is 59, Breyer is 69, Stevens is 87, ginsburg is 74 (and in bad health) Kennedy is 71, Breyer is 68.
Stevens, Ginsburg, Scalia, and Kennedy all could be up for replacement.
If we can replace just one of the liberals with a Conservative, the balance of the court would firmly tip in our favor.
Who do you suppose Hillary or Osama would appoint?
Forget it. I wouldn’t trust Ted Kennedy’s best buddy to give me anything other than a Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
I know who they would support. And I know who mccain woud support. We’re screwed either way.
The issue is whether McCain would name a conservative that would tip the balance of power. I don’t think he will do it. He didn’t like Alito even though he voted for him.
I don’t think we get a consevrative either way so why should we vote McCain just because he *might* name a conservative but probably won’t? That seems like a really weak reason to support so repulsive a nominee.
