If McCain was smart, he would go back to the Senate and get in a big battle with the Dems by pushing a cap on spending like the 1995 "Pay as you go rules" or for a fully funded border fence bill. Do something to show Conservatives he really means what he is saying.

Right now Conservatives mistrust McCain cause they figure he is more Democrat then Conservative. He could do a lot to assuage that worry by picking some serious fights in the Senate while Hillary/Obama are still slugging it out.
