According to the story Purvis was told that a student had vandalized his car the night before and that was the reason for the altercation. It remains to be seen if the information he was given was true, but if it is true, and the other student really did vandalize his car, then I don't blame him.

Maybe, even after his previous troubles, he still doesn't get the idea of behaving like a civilized human being. At least this time he didn't have a gang of fellow thugs helping him.
