When I awoke at 5 am this morning to Breaking news and still kinda of groggy. I though oh man its got to be Brittany Spears
But on a serious note Rip to that Police officer and prayers to all involved

This doesn’t sound like something an illegal would do. He might kill his family but wouldn’t make a date with the SWAT team. This is probably an emotionally disturbed white guy that wants someone to kill him.
In that neighborhood, it's certainly a strong possibility. There are also a few Latino gangs in the area. The LA Times quotes a neighbor who said that "an elderly Latino woman lived there alone for as long as he has lived in the neighborhood."
