A lot of Ann's ire seems to have to do with McCain's stand on torture.
I don't know the details or who's right, but "Hillary Clinton, Ann Coulter and Torture" doesn't look like a winning campaign slogan, however appropriate or amusing it may be.

So how does America get punished by not supporting McNuts? Seems like turning the Elephant into a RINO perpetually would be more punishing. We survived 8 years of Bill. All we will get is 2 years of Hill. Then elect a Republican Congress and in 2 more years a real conservative. Two years is a lot easier to deal with than a continuous stream of RINOs.
It all depends on whether or not you get free season tickets.

I cannot vote for McVain under any circumstances.
I am not abstaining from voting for McCain in Reagans name. I am doing so because I believe to my core that McCain will be more dangerous to my ideals and my country that Clinton or Obama. It is not a temper tantrum, it is my well thought out belief. You can ridicule me if you like, but there are times in this life you have to stick to your core principles and beliefs. I have never abstained from voting before, even though I have often had to hold my nose and be a good Republican. Perhaps there is a bit of unfairness from the author of this article and others who post on this site. It is possible to disagree with what many may feel is the “Party Line” and not be a traitor.
Assuming the conservative SOTUS judges don’t croak in the next four years, the most likely scenario is that Hillary or Obambi will replace aging liberals. No change to the status quo is likely.

Hillary is counting on it. That is how the Clintons got elected in '92 and '96 when most voters voted against them.
At this point, it looks like the election will be between McCain and Obama. Not even the democRats like Hillary and they are flocking to Obama now that he appears to be a viable alternative. If that is the case, then Obama will be elected since the democRats will be motivated to vote and many Republicans will stay home.
If either Obama or McCain is going to be President for at least 4 years, then what will really matter will be trying to get enough Republicans elected to the Senate to block the left wing judicial appointments that either one will make.
My biggest fear is that the democRats will get both the presidency and a veto-proof majority of the Senate. If that happens we truly are screwed.
Seems strange to me that a nominee has to be sold to his base. I thought, ...oh well.

I agree completely. Perhaps someone should have told that to McCain. He not only broke that promise he shattered the pelage on many occasions and all he is left with is the empty assurance of “Trust me”.

I, for one, was raised to be ashamed of cuckoldry.
There has not been any one candidate come forth this time for me to get excited or happy about.
Early on I decided no matter the Republican nominee I would still vote Republican.
The threat to our nations security, support for our military and the economy are my top priorities. As I see it without these three issues protected nothing else will matter.
Any Republican is better on those issues than any democrat.
Even John McCain.
