Drugs That Killed Heath Ledger Could Be in Your Home

The lethal cocktail of drugs that killed actor Heath Ledger two weeks ago could be sitting in your medicine cabinet.

The medications — identified Wednesday as oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, alprazolam, temazepam and doxylamine — are the generic names for the painkillers OxyContin and Vicodin, the anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom.

Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the New York City medical examiner, who conducted the autopsy, said Wednesday that the cumulative effects of these combined prescription medications killed the 28-year-old Australian-born actor.

"The danger is that all these drugs have similar side effects and they tend to add up," said Dr. Manny Alvarez, managing editor of health for FOXNews.com.

They left this one off the list, and it can kill you by itself

It may be in your home to. And it doesn't need a perscription either. Bring back prohibition.

You are doomed. DOOMED!

If you get me some OxyContin and Xanax, I'm sure I won't care that I'm doomed.

I would think the stuff that Heath Ledger took would be pretty liquified and putrid, having been in his body and all... Maybe the same KIND of drugs are in some of our homes, however.

They gave me OxyContin last time I had a bad kidney stone. Once I passed it, I flushed the contents.

You know how those dangerous pills can sneak up on you when you’re not watching their every move.

“I’ve got closets full of guns too....”

You’d better watch out and unload every one of them. I hear that they can jump up by themselves and shoot you to death.

Never mind the drugs. Where is the man who killed Keith Ledger?

Oh, wait, never mind.

His death was no accident. OD pure and simple. None of those things are in my house, and if I can help it, never will be. I have turned down several powerful medications in the past and will continue to. Deal with the pain instead of drugging yourself.

Nope, none of them are in my home. And if they were, I can pretty well assure you that I would not guzzle them by the fistful.

LOL, me neither, at least not before I drank a bottle of Whiskey to ease the pain.

A "cocktail" made from the convenience of legal drugs.

My question still remains: Why was Mary-Kate Olsen called 3x's before 911.

The newspaper yesterday again put those questions to the actress' lawyer.

* Why did Olsen send bodyguards to Ledger's apartment that day?
* Why did she not tell masseuse Diane Lee Wolozin to call 911?
* Why did Olsen not call 911 herself?
* Did Olsen know that Ledger was abusing drugs?

In response, lawyer Michael Miller, sent an e-mail saying, "We respectfully decline to comment."
It's the same answer Miller has given each time The Post has posed those questions to Olsen.
Police have said Wolozin dialed Olsen three times on Ledger's cellphone before she finally got around to calling 911. During the one call that got through to the star in California, Olsen told Wolozin that she was dispatching her security team to the apartment on Broome Street, which the Aussie hunk was renting for $24,000 per month.

When rescue workers arrived a short while later, they found the one-time Oscar nominee next to two open packages of prescription pills that were among the six kinds of sleeping and anti-anxiety medication he had in the apartment.

Police have said Olsen's bodyguards, who arrived at about the same time as emergency workers, were never alone in the apartment.

Olsen jetted to New York right after learning that Ledger was dead. She was spotted within days at two Lower East Side watering holes.

New York Post editor-in-chief Col Allan claims Olsen's lawyers contacted him as soon as the newspaper linked the actress with Ledger's death and speculates they may have put pressure on the NYPD to eliminate the actress from their enquiries.
He says, "Almost immediately after the tragic passing of Mr. Ledger, Ms. Olsen's attorneys began emailing us threatening messages. We find it strange if Ms. Olsen was not questioned at all. "The New York Post will not be pressured, and we find it odd that the chiefs at the NYPD appear to be terrified of 4-foot-11 inch, 90-pound Mary-Kate Olsen."

The new film 'The Wackness' opened at Sundance Jan. 19, staring Olsen and Gandhi's Ben Kingley, a psychiatrist, who trades therapy for marijuana.

It's all about being a survivor in the Jungle of Hollywood.

Three of those drugs ARE in my home(legally). No one has died yet! Actually, if taken in moderation, they can be quite enjoyable. =)

Elvis had prescriptions for his meds.

Judy Garland probably had them too.

The alcohol that Spencer Tracy drank himself to death with (and also destroyed Larry Hagman’s liver) is in my house too.

What brand and vintage? I don't want THAT one.
