There is a fair number of Australians and Western Europeans, typically they transit right here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia getting the cheap tickets on to Pakistan from a few travel agents over on Jalan Raja Laut.
From the Uzbeks and Slavs that I have seen, they seem to be much more interested in modernity and money than going to jihad.

Another FReeper said he met an Uzbek family while deployed in Uzbekistan, and they said to him, "Yeah, we're Muslims but we're not jerks about it like they are down south [referring to Afghanistan]." They later converted to Christianity.
