We should only want Republicans who registered as Republicans to vote in the primaries. Letting nonpartisans vote in a Republican primary isn’t going to help conservatives, it will help the moderate Republican candidate.

I agree. But then you have missed the point. These were registered life-long Republicans who had their affiliation changed without their knowledge, thus preventing them from voting in the Republican primary.
