we both scrambled into the equipment room and folks were careening cars into the shelters of my bays
went on 15 minutes.....my wife was panicking at the house out hillsboro road
wind never really picked up too bad....just sheets of rain and big hail
i heard the dispatcher saying funnel cloud on the ground near Loveless Cafe
glad you are ok!
Cells are still south of Lufkin,Texas moving NE through
Shreveport,Louisiana area toward the areas already hit,,,
~NWS radar~
Out here in Antioch (SE Nashville), we only got a bit of wind and light rain. One strange thing that happened was an isolated wind gust half an hour after that ugly cell went across West Nashville apparently snapped a tree somewhere in my backyard. Still waiting on that big line coming across shortly, hopefully that won’t be so bad.
Got quite a bit of family down there. Hope everyone is OK.
thanks
fear for that Jackson toll
What’s happened is that a warm front met a cold front. They actually shut down the Shelby County schools here in Memphis.
It’s been a very eerie day. Tornado sirens have been wailing all evening. You’ll have massive deluges of rain that come and go in 20-minutes.
Part of that front passed through East Texas about 1600 today, we had 50 mph winds and golf ball sized hail.
next wave in 3 hours
I'm surprised we didn't have tornadoes here in DFW. It was 76 degrees here in the afternoon when the front came through, we had hail in downtown Dallas and some high winds, but thankfully no tornadoes, even though it sure looked like conditions were ripe for them.
For some odd reason, the weather systems seem to just miss us in Minnesota. From the rain to the snow.
I’m just feeling that there’ll be dues to pay one of these times.
Hey there t-t!!
Yep, we’re ok at this point but the line of storms hasn’t arrived in our neck o’ the woods yet. It’s close but has died down somewhat. We’ll get some rain and some lightning (I hope).
I love a good “light show”. LOL!
Jackson is in the western part of the state and we’re farther east; not far from Chattanooga.
The Nashville station I’m watching just announced there are no tornado warnings in the state at present and that’s good news. It would have been nice if the storms had died down earlier. It’s been a long, rough night for folks in TN.
Tornadoes at night are some bad stuff.
Tornado on ground in Decatur, AL.
Tornado warning for Huntsville, Madison, AL. Have not heard the sirens, yet. It did hit Decatur at I65. Headed this way. Bye!!!!
Mobile homes reported on roadways, homes completely destroyed. One man said he was hiding behind his couch, when it slammed him against the wall and pinned him.He then looked up and saw the sky and rain.
Severe weather kills 27 in Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee

I just checked the news. 31 dead all told. That’s horrible. I’m hoping that it doesn’t pick up again today. The front is supposed to be crossing NY this afternoon, but since it’s hitting the mountains, that will keep it from producing major tornadoes. We aren’t expecting a major temperature drop.
Are you anywhere near the areas that got hit?
Check in when ya get time........Hope all are safe !
