Romney gets STOMPED in the South.

Between the two of them, McCain and Huckster are getting close to 70% of the votes.

Huckster has already won WV, AR, TN, and AL. He’s going to also win GA and MO. Except for OK, it was a great night.

McCain finished second everywhere he didn’t win. Stealing the block of NE states from Rudy was huge.

Republican primary voters have spoken. In the key geographic areas of our party, namely the South and Southwest, the top two choices were McCain and Huckabee. Romney has been rejected, in my opinion.

One has to think that Thompson’s half-ass effort kept him from winning this thing. After watching tonight play out, he’s the candidate he could have pulled from both McCain and Huckabee voters. Instead, it’s looking like a shared ticket. The vacuum was there, but Fred just couldn’t fill it. It’s a shame. I’m glad that at least the Republicans are putting up their strongest general election candidate and not Mitt Romney. He would have been a disaster.

Strategy beats tactics every time. And it’s about time conservatives tried to understand strategy.

“Romney gets STOMPED in the South.

Gimme a break. lies, damn lies and statistics ...
Romney took 30% of votes in Georgia, it was a 3-way split ...

Mike Huckabee 308,697 34%
John McCain 293,042 32%
Mitt Romney 269,299 30%

ROMNEY NOT STOMPED! HE WAS 4% from winning!

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/2008-presidential-candidates/primaries/states/ga/r/

STOMPED LOOKS MORE LIKE THIS:
ROMNEY WINS CO BY 25 POINTS ....
Mitt Romney 4,143 50%
John McCain 2,088 25%
Mike Huckabee 1,381 17%

Now show somewhere *outside* the south where Huckabee won?

I am sure that at the end of the night the total vote count for Romney nationwide will be way above what Huckabee got, even though there were many southern states in the mix.

BTW, the late-voters in MO were split Romney and McCain. McCain will win MO is the projection.

Romney was our best candidate left.

We just shot the leading horse and are putting in an old RINO nag and a donkey that think its a racehorse.
