You know as we get close to the 2008 elections, it's no secret that for the most part i don't like any of these people and come election day it'll be a miracle if the 2 choices i'll have before me in the booth will have impressed me enough to want to vote at all.

so what do i want for a president?

Jim Leyland. Just kidding, in all seriousness?

Give me a president who is there to serve the very people who elected them in the first place, not somebody who is in for a powertrip or a bigger paycheck.

Give me a president who will make taxes even for all classes, no more of this taxing the higher, middle or lower classes exclusively,

Give me a president with enough fortitude to tell the rest of the world that we are the United States of America and flat out? we will not be messed with,we will not do what you tell us, and we sure as hell will not hand ourselves over to the failed world government that is the United Abominations...err..i mean nations.

Give me a president that when faced with war, or conflict will end it quickly, decisively and without mercy. lollipops and teddy bears do not win wars. Soldiers, alot of bullets and a world of hurt for the enemy will.

Give me a president who can take all the idiots in the press who tout on about "what did he know and when did he know it." a nice big middle finger. yes thats vulgar, but then again, the mass media's behavior and actions have been exactly over the past 20 years.

Give me a president who tells congress that we have to carry on the business of the people, not special interests, not stupid laws and "feel good" legislation. give me a man who make sure those people in congress remember the words "of the people for the people by the people" each day when they walk into work. and that phrase wasn't said in the constitution because it sounded catchy or "cool".

And lastly?, Give me a president who will mind the borders of his homeland, give me a man who can help those in need without compromising our security, our borders and our jobs. period.

and frankly? if you don't like this? i have three words for you

Leave My Country

Which is worse? A republican who makes a giant mess of the country and is justly blamed for it? Or a democrat who does the same?

Since their respective parties would also bear a good deal of the blame that would probably stick for years, I might lean towards the democrat come election day.

But election day is a long way off. I'm hoping (wishing) for something good to happen.

We have faced worse times. ask thomas jefferson, george washington, benjamin franklin. they got through tyranny,we will too.

They solved tyranny with a revolution. You may be right.

"At this point the best we can hope for is that Fred will be McCain’s VP."

Something like would be the end for me ... if Fred would accept a VP spot with McCain, everything I've ever known about the world will have been shattered.

Your reactions (not your positions) remind me of McCain.

It looks more and more I am thinking very much the same way, going third party myself. At least now I feel much less alone.

Alan Keyes would be a great third party candidate, we know a third party can’t win but we could send a message to the repubs when we purposely toss their rejects aside.

That's true. They did, but they paid a heavy price.

Are Americans today willing to take that chance or pay that price??? I don't know...........

I am so sorry to say that I believe Hillary Clinton will be the next POTUS. We don't have a candidate to rally around. With this lack of inspiration, we'll simply hand the position to her without a fight.

But, hey - I thought the Patriots had the game with their last touchdown. I was wrong once. (hubby even witnessed that - darnit) It could happen again!
