Appalachia used to be considered the most dumbed-down, hillbilly uneducated ignorant group in the country. My husband is from the Shenandoah valley, and I can tell you that the stereotype is wrong. The Shenandoah Valley is the most beautiful place on the face of the earth.
If I ever strike it rich, I'm buying land here.

What a beautiful place! If there had been work in Marion, VA when we got married, we'd be there today. But there wasn't and we're settled now in Missouri. We like it, but it's not nearly as beautiful as the Shenandoah.
