I've been here since 1998 and I expect that Free Republic will go on as it has and continue to be a forum for conservative principles and ideals. It probably won't continue to be a GOP cheerleader but c'est la vie.
Perhaps, if necessary, we can be a fertile ground for a new, optimistic and patriotic pro-America, capitalist third party movement.

The GOP has been so intent over the years to expand its voter base to include those who aare not Conservative that it has in the process incrementally aligned its political ideology with the Socialist Democrats. They are essentially one party. Another party will be a second party.

"It probably won't continue to be a GOP cheerleader but c'est la vie."
That would be a refreshing return to its roots, as it did not start out as simply being a GOP cheerleader.
