Pushing Fred Thompson to Re-Enter the Race?
The Conservative Pulse ^ | 02/05/2008 | Austin Cassidy

Posted on 02/05/2008 7:53:49 AM PST by TheThirdRuffian

Apparently, a handful of former Fred Thompson supporters are keeping the faith. They’ve been trying to organize grassroots supporters to vote for Thompson anyway, despite the fact that he’s dropped out of the race…

There is a reason Fred Thompson hasn’t endorsed any other Republican candidate for President. If the FRED ARMY can come through on Super Tuesday and deliver a victory in Tennessee, he will re-enter the race and give us the conservative alternative we need!

Mitt Romney is a phony conservative. John McCain is an honorable servant, but he is not the right man to represent our party. Mike Huckabee is a liberal in conservative clothing.

Only Fred Thompson can save our party and our nation.

Fred may not be out on the campaign trail, but you can be. His name is still on the ballot and we can still get the word out. This election year is unlike any other. Fred Thompson was leading the polls before he got into the race, there’s no good reason why he can’t lead again.

Get out and vote for Fred! Wave signs for Fred! Call friends, call family members, open the phone book and call everyone! Make a YouTube video or share an eCard to remind people they can still vote for Fred.

Victory in Tennessee means victory for America!

We can and we must win!

Imagine the headlines: Thompson wins more delegates than Ron Paul or Mike Huckabee! Thompson beats Huckabee in California, Alabama, and New York! Thompson re-enters race as Romney and Huckabee drop out!

WE CAN DO IT! LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN!

FRED THOMPSON 2008 - FRED FOREVER!

The idea isn’t quite as crazy as it might sound. Back in 1992, Paul Tsongas suspended his campaign and then rejoined the race, thinking Clinton had been fatally wounded by a string of sex scandals. It didn’t quite work for Tsongas, but he did perform well in New York.

Dang, the link for the official Fred08 Fred Thompson store doesn’t work anymore. I was just itching to buy a coffee mug.

I tried it too. Yeah, I wanted some of those bumper stickers that said, “Don’t blame me, I voted for Fred”.

I’m a Fred guy, hoping for Mitt Romney at this point.

It occurred to me today that perhaps Fred got out, so that he wouldn’t be doing what Huckabee is doing...

Says WHO? I’m beginning to smell a whiff of ‘nervous breakdown’ in the air.

Generals are supposed to lead their army, not the reverse.

In a Republic, the president isn't supposed to be a general. He should be a trusted servant to whom we have delegated important tasks. If you want to see more of something, reward it. I've seen enough of lying, pandering big-government ilk like McCain, Romney and Huckabee. As I would like more candidates like Thompson in the future, I believe it's important for me to indicate that by voting for him.

I will proudly wear my Fred shirts/buttons proudly to the convention ‘cause with whatever remaining RINO we put up, we’re gonna get our ass kicked.

Normally this is an empty gesture, ...

And this time is no exception. Write ins don't even get looked at unless the margin of victory in a race is microscopic. You could leave it blank or write in Mickey Rooney and have the same effect: none at all. The tabulating scanner could not care less, you're just another undervote.

Fortuntely, the date to withdraw from the ballo in Texas was Jan 2, so Fred Thompson will be on the ballot.

For me, overall, Romney is every bit as bad as McCain. Romney criticized Thompson’s social security reform; he ran robocalls slamming McCain for one of the things McCain actually did right: voting against Medicaid prescription drugs. Romney ran around Michigan and Florida promising big federal spending. He plans to push states to adopt universal healthcare mandates using our federal tax dollars (even though his own program is going broke in Mass.)

Our willingness to vote based on political relativism (unmoored from any objective standard) is why the GOP keeps giving us such increasingly bad candidates. Paraphrasing Einstein, the definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.

Spectacular!

It felt good, I suspect. In New Mexico, we don’t vote until June or something.

Sorry, Fred was interested -— the MSM goal was to suppress him, and that was their story, not the truth.
