A majority of Americans should not be permitted to vote.

A story about McCain’s strength on the War on Terror:

To be honest- all I see is McCain’s strength against conservatives.

I have come to appreciate Duncan Hunter’s leadership over the past 6 months, and I made the decision to follow his lead in the PRIMARY and see where we end up.. I can say that if McCain gets the nod I will have a hard time voting for him, and I think we “THE GOP” deserve the HildaBEAST for allowing that to happen... I will let you know as the Primary game moves forward... I think we agree that McCain is LAST on our list correct?

And yet, your post refers to nothing but his faith.

Because I was responding to an initial post by somebody else that focused only on faith.

Honestly - were Romney the very image of Ronald Reagan, save for his Morman beliefs, would you vote for him?

I've outlined on other threads that Romney has taken 3 positions in 13 years on forcing businesses to hire alternative sexual minorities--he now wants states to implement that; he's taken 3 positions in 5.5 years on embryonic stem cell research, including telling Katie Couric in early December that if a "parent" of an otherwise adoptable frozen embryo (he even mentions the word "adoption") wanted to "donate" the adoptable embryo to research (for dissection purposes), that would be "acceptable."

As late as half a year ago, he still would not “come clean” on what his supposed previous position was: Look at this quote from his Aug. 12, 2007 interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News: "I never called myself pro-choice. I never allowed myself to use the word pro-choice because I didn't FEEL I was pro-choice. I would protect the law, I said, as it was, but I wasn't pro-choice, and so..."

(The problem with the common LDS approach to reality and truth is that it’s determined by pure feeling--a burning in the bosom…)

That interview, BTW, wasn’t the first time he didn’t come clean on his true position or former position.

Early 2007 on the campaign trail: "I was always for life” [Romney statement in South Carolina, Feb. 8, 2007]

May 27, 2005 after his supposed Nov, 2004 “conversion” to a pro-life position: "I am absolutely committed to my promise to maintain the status quo with regards to laws relating to abortion and choice.”

Seven years after his solidly pro-abortion positions & attending Planned Parenthood promotional events & one year before feeling out NARAL, Planned Parenthood and Majority for Choice questionnaires & trumpeting those in a press release, he said: ” I do not wish to be labeled pro-choice." [Source: Mitt Romney, Letter to the Editor, The Salt Lake Tribune, 7/12/01]

What is it about these weird “sandwiches” he throws up in between his latest position on abortion? Could you imagine Reagan doing all this kind of equivocating?

She pretty much is, which is why this is such a prime opportunity to put in a great conservative candidate to run against the dems (opportunity squandered, evidently).

I think Miss Didi was referring to the listing of candidates as they appeared on her ballot when she went to vote. She was saying that Alan Keyes was listed first on their ballots and Romney was fifth. I don't believe she meant she voted for Keyes.

Passing an economics test should be a requirement for winning the privilege to vote. This of course means that John McCain wouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Yeah I thought the comment that you italicized was kind of small and mean.

And you’re right of course. Young people are liberal; it’s their nature.

To accuse the parents as the cause of a young person’s liberal idealogy is not only a stretch, it’s very nasty.

Those parents had a young person who is bothering to vote for God’s sake. This is a success in itself.

Conservatism, like fine wine, matures with age.

My post was confusing, too. ;) NYC had eight candidates listed—Alan, Duncan, Fred, Rudy among those running.

“Hillary terrifies me too. Evil. I have not voted yet but have considered voting for Obama to help knock Hillary out. I’ve got about 30 more minutes to decide. Suggestions?”

Here in NJ same problem. I dragged my neighbor and he voted for Romney.
Then since I was independent they said I could vote for either but then would be affiliated with one. I said, hmmm I can vote against evil. The women were laughing but then I let on what that meant after I decided to go Rat.

So for the first and probably last time, I voted as a Rat. And I pulled the lever for Obama because it may make a difference in NJ. Sadly, I did not think that another vote for Romney would impact the NJ winner take all election.

After I got out of the booth, my neighbor and I chatted with the women. They said I was now a Rat until I changed it. I said no problem; I will be changing back to independent.

One of the women seemed really annoyed. :) It was clear that I was a Shrillary Saboteur. I’m giddy.

My point is, it doesn’t take a whacked out right wing extremist to realize McCain is off the reservation. Any mainstream conservative would be on to this guy.

I agree buddy.

any polling data?

some of us are cubicle bound and are unable to watch news outlets.

The silence is deafening but for a radio blub about mccain voters jumping to huckabee in order to deny Romney delegates in west virginia.
