CAMPO A man who was shot in the head by a Border Patrol agent Friday as he drove several suspected illegal immigrants has died, authorities said. Potrero resident Ronald Deugan, 49, died about 7:40 p.m. Sunday at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, a Medical Examiner's investigator said.
Three agents opened fire on Deugan's pickup, wounding him and a front-seat passenger, authorities said. Four people in the back seat were not injured. Sheriff's investigators said Border Patrol agents followed the truck from the Campo area to the entrance of the Golden Acorn Casino on Old Highway 80 near Live Oak Springs. Agents reportedly walked up to the pickup, identified themselves and told the driver to stop. The driver allegedly backed up and drove toward the agents, prompting them to open fire, investigators said.
The front-seat passenger, a man, remains hospitalized.
Yeah, your leader is just a helpless, innocent by-stander here.
You Bush holdouts are bizarre at best.
So, our citizens are participating by bringing more illegals into our country for MONEY?
OMG.
How’d I get so old and stay so naive? I hope this isn’t a common occurance.
Life (and people) near the border is different in many ways.
Tell it, tell it! Thanks.
Hence the “misguided soul” part.
Bush is my PRESIDENT, and leader on my COUNTRY, but he sure as Hell is not MY leader on border issues. That would imply I follow him, but his drumbeat leads into desolation, and I won't go there.
In fact, he seems to be more of a follower on this subject...follower of Mexico's lead.
That is what I was thinking - I hope they have some awesome lawyers - because they will need them. Border Patrol is not allowed to shoot at suspected illegals, NO MATTER WHAT! Bush’s masters in Mexico will be calling for “justice” and he will be all too happy to comply.
What's wrong with you? Everyone knows that the correct phrase is "Bush bootlicker"
BTW, the Ramos-Compean trial transcripts are still on the internet and they contradict you.
That is entirely untrue.
ANY law enforcement officer is allowed to defend him or herself when confronted with such a danger as a vehicle driving toward them as was done in this incident.
These agents acted in accordance with the law.
Yup, that's how these threads usually shake out.
