Didn't all of us spend a certain amount of time in 2004 making the case to the American public that Senator John "cut off ears, cut off heads... razed villages in fashion reminiscent of 'Jen-jis' Khan" Kerry was not a trustworthy source?

"All of us?"

John McCain didn't make that case. To the contrary, he gave the Democrats sound bites with his unsupported claim that the TV ads targeting Kerry by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were "dishonest and dishonorable."

Well, the easy thing to resolve this is to have McCain state for the record if John Kerry is lying with his previous statement that he approved him to run as his VP?

Did you bother to read the article at all?

"First, the McCain stories were one of the first stories covered on the Kerry Spot, and we noted that McCain denied his interest every time it came up. When Kerry started claiming that McCain approached him, others noted that everyone around McCain describes it as Kerry approaching McCain, not the other way around, and Newsweek's account is that Kerry "badly wanted" McCain as his running mate."

If Kerry "badly wanted McCain as his running mate", why would McCain have to state that Kerry approved him?

If Kerry says one thing and McCain says the opposite, it's a sort of lying scumbag stalemate. There are no laws of logic, physics, or mathematics that can figure out which one is lying.

Perhaps killing Schrodinger's cat would help?

I challenge you to please read my post here about McCain’s serial disloyal flirtations with Democrats:

Read it, and then tell me that you still believe that McCain is telling the truth here.

See post #5: "If Kerry says one thing and McCain says the opposite, it's a sort of lying scumbag stalemate. There are no laws of logic, physics, or mathematics that can figure out which one is lying.

The odds are that there's some nuance that allows them both to be lying simultaneously, despite the apparent contradiction.

Toss-up? McCueen makes strage bedfellows and you still call it a toss-up? He suffers CDS and most certainly will have entertained the idea. After all isn’t he the big statesman reaching out too far to the rats and #$%%@&*ed the conservatives on the way.

That’s the most interesting part. Wouldn’t one think McCain would come out & vehemently deny this IF it was false? I’ve seen no such comments except from his surrogates. Given the fact that McCain is on tape saying he would consider the offer of VP if it was made at the time, I would lean towards the report of him making inquiry being true. No one here knows for sure, but McCain’s silence on the issue makes one go, hmmmmmmmmmmm.

This article would have had more credence if he would have gone to McCain & asked whether this was true. For that matter, has anyone done likewise? I’m sure some might fear for their safety for such a query, but still..... My, my, journalism at it’s best.

Um, you haven’t seen the videos?

The day I view a video, or read anything on the Internet that causes me to reverse a well and long considered opinion, I will summarily execute myself as a worthless piece of crap.

Romney ran against Kennedy in the most liberal State in the country and won. He had to massage his conservatism that is provable in his life, both past and present, and justify it by getting the opportunity to do good things, good conservative thigs for his home state.

Yes, they were largely incremental changes, but changing the direction of the liberal ocean liner takes time and is slow in coming around.

Nobody I know on the conservative side would have the guts to ven try this, much less be successful.

Why bring up John Skerry? Every Senator, both D and R, said the same comment about Kerry's record. Kerry is not on the ballot and has been politically neutered by his lies and distortions. Why should Romney get himself involved in this, at this time. There is no upside for him, and only down side if he is perceived as attacking Kerry for no good reason. It wold ruin his campaign and label him stupid.

Looks to me like the McStain folks are beginning to feel the pinch of the conservative reluctance to support him.

It's going to get worse, and tomorrow I vote for Romney. The only candidate who can lead this nation in the direction that we all want.

It’s a toss-up on this particular issue. I know Kerry is a liar, but I also know that McCain denies things he actually did, so in the end I have no idea if McCain entertained seriously an offer by Kerry or not.

What I know is that THERE WAS discussion of such a thing, and that McCain did not immediately dismiss it as being absurd because Kerry was unfit to be President.

Beyond that, I don’t know if McCain pushed it, or Kerry pushed it, or how serious the discussion got.

Actually, it is your inability to provide your own evidence which exposes you as a fool. btw, it is legal to hunt on private land without a license. But then why let facts like that get in the way of your lies about Romney? However, your ad hominems were duly noted. It is a tactic liberals use with frequency. They may work for you on DU, but they don’t fly here.

Personal attack? You must be kidding. YOU were the one repeating the lie even though you now admit your ignorance as to the authenticity of that claim. And you cannot admit that you were caught trying to deceive the people on this forum. Your first action speaks volumes as to your lack of integrity. the second shows you have no humility. And that shows a lack of class.

Of course you could rectify your standing by admitting your mistake. But I don't believe you have what it takes to do so.
