Let me put it this way.

Waiting for “final judgement” is one thing, but trying to find symantic loopholes “context” for WHY these MALE Officers striped this handcuffed woman, then left her laying naked on a cold cell floor for 6 hours, for a disoederly conduct arrest is waaaaay beyond the pale.

Sorry, but these Cops deserve the same “benefit of the doubt” they gave this woman.

Read, NONE!

Male officers can legally strip a female inmate in every jurisdiction, PROVIDED that there is some sort of emergency which justifies their presence. For example, a big riot at a prison for women, where there simply aren’t enough female guards to strip search all the participants for weapons.

I believe that this doesn’t help the Stark County SD, since you can see five women in the cell on the video. The usual justification for this sort of “emergency” at the local level is that there simply are not enough (ususally only one or two) female officers to control an unruly female inmate, so one or more male officers are required to join in. You can see in the video that Steffey was not physically resisting the stripping, at least not to the point where 5 female officers couldn’t have controlled her.
