She probably threatened suicide.
___________
Possibly, but she is clearly heard during the video screaming ‘why are you doing this to me?’. That doesn’t pass the suicide watch smell test for me.
They asked her "have you ever thought of harming yourself?"...her response...was the wrong thing. She replied "now or ever?". They interpret that as a yes and strip her down. Complete over reaction and there are males in there.
I dont know, my internet is too slow to download the video. If she was being combative she should have been put in a restraint chair, untill she calmed down. We had drunks come into the jail all the time screaming “why are you doing this to me.”
That's because we don't really have any facts worth mentioning in this case. You've got a video that looks bad, and some vague comments from her lawyer, and absolutely no context in which to place them.
When you talk about "smell tests," I've got an almost infallible one for stories like this one.
1. Story that sounds bad.
2. Story reported by a TV station
3. All of the "facts" are provided by the plaintiff's lawyer and relatives
4. No real facts about why the cops were called
5. No real specifics as to why the plaintiff was arrested in the first place.
When I see that combination, my "smell test" meter goes off the scale.
Unless she was pretty drunk. Short term memory suffers when you are drunk.
You’re right. And their ‘reason’ for doing it was that when she was asked ‘Have you ever thought of hurting yourself?’ she asked “Now or ever?” That doesn’t sound suicidal, her cousin wasn’t calling 911 because she was irrational or threatening. She probably just thought she was answering questions honestly to get it over with (although I don’t know why she had to be taken in to begin with - just because she got upset that they might keep her sister’s license???)
