Now tell me that toward the end of 1976 primary election that Reagan did not offer the VP slot to that fantasic Conservative Arlen Specter.. Reagan/Specter was the slate Reagan offered Republicans in 1976. We didn't take it though. Ford/Dole was less liberal than Reagan/Specter. LIke I say Birds of a feather ... they do flock together.

Arlen Spector ran for the Senate in the 1976 Republican Primary against John Heinz and he lost.
