It never ceases to amaze me how far the Brit and European press will euphemistically go to avoid calling the white elephant in the room a white elephant.

The original was probably more accurate. Honour killings have been seen in the Sikh and Hindu, as well as Muslim communities. Probably more so with Muslims and Sikhs though.
Traditionally, “Asian” in Britain means, by default, South Asian. The folks Americans call Asian, the Brits call “East Asian.” I’s an empire thing — the predominant “Asian” population in Britain is from the former colonies that today are India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
