I just received a recorded phone message from John McCain. One interesting promise he made was that he would build the fence before “proceeding with immigration reform.” That sounded like he has not changed in what he wants to do with amnesty, just that he will build a fence before doing it.

If McCain wants to be truthful, he should bring along a mostly-built 1/1000-scale model of a fence, and say "Here's the fence I'm going to finish before I sign the immigration reform." Then that way he can finish building his "fence" (i.e. the model he said he'd finish) and pass the reform without going back on his word.
