This year’s race is between the Socialists (Dems) and the Democrats (Republicans). I really thinking about sitting this one out.

“I don’t think I need to tell you, that there are jobs that Americans will not do. I don’t think I have to tell you that there are the backbone of our economy... [audience member says ‘pay’em the right wages’]... I’ve heard that statement before... my friends, I’ll offer anybody here $50 an hour if you’ll go pick lettuce in Yuma this season and pick for the whole season. Okay? Sign up. You sign up and you’ll be there for the whole season - the whole season. Okay? Not just one day. Because you can’t do it, my friend.”
~ Sen. John McCain, April 4, 2006, speaking to several hundred working class Americans at an AFL-CIO’s Building and Construction Trades event in Michigan about the need for 20 million uneducated illegal aliens.

Every:
* 16 seconds an illegal alien crosses the border
* 4 minutes an illegal alien commits a sex-crime
* 6 hours someone is killed by an illegal alien
THIS ISN’T IMMIGRATION - IT’S AN INVASION!

I really thinking about sitting this one out.

I too had those thoughts, but upon reflection I will vote for a third party candidate. At the moment the Constitution Party looks the best.

“I really thinking about sitting this one out.”

Even if McCain turned out to be a total disaster domestically, which is highly unlikely, Hillary or Obama would create problems in foreign policy that would take generations to overcome. We are still suffering from Jimmy Carter’s overthrow of the Shah in Iran thirty years ago. Truman and Acheson lost China in the 1940s, and wee suffer from that 60 years later. Whatever McCain tries to do that is not conservative can be opposed just as effectively as the Immigration Bill was, or it can be corrected after he leaves office (Look at the mess Carter made of the economy, and Reagan corrected it within 4 years)

In foreign affairs, you cannot easily block a President (or, in the case of Hillary or Obama, make them act). The consequences can be really catastrophic and very longlasting. Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan deserve better than to be turned over to Commander in chief Hillary or Obama.
