Conservatives Fighting Romney
Race42008 ^ | 2/2/2008 | Billy Valentine

In response to Jason’s post of an anti-McCain YouTube video, I offer this video of Romney, made by the same exact organization that produced the McCain video. Also, I take issue with the statement “This Youtube is making it’s way into activists inboxes all across the nation as we speak.” The anti-McCain video has… brace yourself… 139 views, while this anti-Romney video has 4,796 views. Enjoy.

You cite two people. THe NRLC did not endorse Romney becasue of the $50 publicly financed abortions in his behemoth health care scheme. Stalwart prolifers like Sam Brownback, Fr. Frank Pavone (of Priests for Life), Notre Dame Law Professor Gerard Bradley and Tom Coburn have endorsed McCain.

Romney converted in 2004 to prolife and in 2006 EXPANDED public financing of abortion sin his mandatory health plan. This cost him the NRLC endorsement and this, not Huckabee, has kept him from making any gains among grassroots prolifers.

Both ambassadors to the Vatican, current and former, have endorsed Romney. Enough said.

“Mitt Romney IS Giuliani. He’s just lying about it.”

Reminds me of the old saying, “The coverup is worse than the crime.” His flip flopping is actually more of an issue than his liberalism, because it makes you wonder if he has the guts to stand up to an enemy. I never liked Rudy because he was a liberal. But I thought Rudy had the guts to face down an aggressor. I do not believe Mitt does.

i>his first career was based on combat leadership

Combat Leadership? You must be joking. He was a maverick fighter pilot who happened to finish fifth from the bottom in his graduating class. After retiring from the Navy, he entered politics as a legislator - not an executive. He has no executive experience.

Compare that to Romney who climbed to a VP position at Bain in only four years after graduating from Harvard. Romney would go on to found his own company, while McCain would remain in the good-old-boys club of the US Senate, the same club that sold us out in regards to President Bush's judicial nominees.

In my book, Mitt's flips are nothing more than lying about his record and trying to deceive voters. All this comes under the heading of, political expediency and we all know, Romney is the expert in that regard. This video is funny. Mitt Surfing

On the issue of right to life, McCain is solid. Romney is not.

Slick Willard is solid on whatever position he thinks serves him best at the moment. He is a political windsock.

McCain/Feingold anti free speach bill

McCain/Kennedy illegal amnesty bill

McCain/Liebermann anti gun bill

McCain voted twice against Bush’s tax cuts.

McCain came to Sen Kerry’s defense on the swift boat ads during presidential race 2004.

Keating five the investagating committee said they all had done wrong.
Gang of 14 7 liberal dems and 7 moderate repubs.

I wouldn’t rust him on any issue!

“He was a maverick fighter pilot who happened to finish fifth from the bottom in his graduating class. “

He didn’t retire until 1981, he was leading GIs and doing it very effectively in his post Vietnam time.

This primary is a reflection of the mens leadership skills, the natural born leader is leading although he had to come back from the political dead, with no money and no staff.

The rich kid has all the money and staff in the world, but he can’t seem to overcome his weak leadership skills.

In a race where most people are desperate to not have to vote for McCain, Romney just cannot lead us to believe him, with all of his material assets, that is a profound failure in his leadership.

My understanding is that the “hospital-pill problem” was never an actual problem. Hospitals were all allowed to opt-out, but that did take someone from the hospital to ask for it.

False.

Romney promised Catholic hospitals they would be able to be exempt, then surrendered when criticized by the Boston Globe, broke his promise and said Catholic hospitals could not be exempt.

How do you feel about McCain's boy, David Souter, on the High Court?

That is an outright lie.

John McCain was very critical of the nomination of David Souter because he had no track record.

That is a fact, and you can look it up.

Ronald Reagan was a democrat and supported FDR. Was the president of S. A. G. In 1952 he supported Ike as a Democrat’s for Ike. He raised taxes in California. He also divorced his first wife.He changed as people do. That didn’t make him a bad person. He learned from it. If your saying that people can’t change then your looking for a candidate that is perfect. There is no such candidate. Only Jesus was perfect.

Oh yeah, that had nothing to do with his gold-plated family and church connections and that his daddy was a millionaire.

(Romney) had a life-changing moment regarding (abortion)

This cabal of obsessed Romney haters on FR don't believe in redemption.

They think of themselves and their candidates (if they have any) as infallible, whether today or 20 years ago.

They demand Romney accept responsibility for all court-mandated abortion which occurred if Massachusetts during his term, yet they could care less about the court-mandated abortion which occurred in THEIR candidates state during his or her term.

It's the height of hypocricy.

Let's see I voted for Reagan twice so I guess that answers that part of the question. I am by no means saying that Romney is a conservative through and through but if you believe McCain is after all his maverick ways than it's not me who doesn't understand what a conservative is.

Let's see believe him or not Romney is running on no illegal immigrants, no amnesty, pro-life, tax cuts, staying in Iraq to the finish, no buy in on the global warming hoax and capitalism as the engine that drives our economy.

McCain is running on or has already lead to grant amnesty to 20 million, opposed tax cuts, curbing free speech, giving terroists rights not granted to them by law, 100% buy in on the global warming hoax, populist attacks on the rich and stating that he won't try to overurn Roe V Wade and that Alito is too conservative.

You tell me which "platform" is more conservative. Romney may not govern as a conservative, despite his platform or he may, that's the unknown. McCain will and has, that's the problem.

Romney is running for POTUS, NOT Reagan.

Besides, Romney is no Reagan and firing off cheap pot shots at the Reagan legacy is sleazy lowlife BS. Won’t help Willard win the nomination either.
