If you see in facing our real situation a counsel of surrender, then you are a defeatist to the bottom of your boots. You appear to only believe in the cause if you think it sure to win. That isn't even fighting. I support conservatism knowing full well it will lose, and lose often. I do so because I know my country needs it, and I trust my country to come back to it in good time. Even if it never does, it would be a duty to offer it, because it is right. But it is equally a duty to face our situation realistically, and to sugar coat nothing.
