ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A U.S. missile strike that killed a top al-Qaida commander at a house with satellite phones and a computer — only two kilometers (1.3 miles) from a Pakistani military base — showed how entrenched Islamic militants are in the country's lawless tribal regions.
But the successful targeting of Abu Laith al-Libi also suggests that U.S. intelligence in the area is improving, and that Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf seems willing to turn a blind eye to such attacks along the Afghan border if they avoid civilian casualties.
Pakistan has yet to confirm al-Libi's death, reported Thursday on Islamic extremist Web sites and confirmed by an American official who said a missile from a U.S. Predator drone hit the veteran al-Qaida leader late Monday in a North Waziristan village.

Let us hope the reports are true. Sometimes I think the goons may provide false info to put up smoke screens as to the whereabouts of their top echelon.
Unless of course, we find that it really was this goon that got blown up. Then goody goody gumdrop. Holy molasses, I have not used that phrase in a coon’s age.
