When he was supposed to be running the Senate and ensuring that majority Republican policies were enacted into law, he kept flitting over to Africa to operate on needy natives, making sure that everyone knew where he was. He screwed his own party over several times, and let Mitch McConnell, who should have been Leader, do all the grunt work. I became convinced after watching for a while that this man is little more than a gigantic ego attached to a license to practice medicine. And we LOST THE DAMN SENATE, thanks to him.
There are others I know that do help poor kids, the problem is that they avoid the publicity and usually don’t stay in Congress because they are ignored.
