Ehud Olmert is a disaster as Israeli leader. But he's a very skillful politician. Despite leading a government mired in the public opinion basement and one that is floundering and failing around in search of a policy to secure the country, his most remarkable achievement has been able to retain his job in the face of massive public disapproval. He's now counting on Israelis' silence to let him give away Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem and go down in history as the Prime Minister who laid the foundations for the nation's demise while no one cared enough to do anything to hold him and his government accountable for their track record of lies, evasions, mistakes and failures.

When are the next elections in Israel, so Olmert can be booted from office?

I’m starting to think Olmerde and Juan McShamnesyPain may have a lot in common.

Don’t worry, the First Husband will come in to save the day for Israel. After he wrings out all of the possible concessions from Israel and collects his Nobel, a Hamas-led coalition will fall on what’s left of Israel and finish it off. Bill will tell us he tried as hard as he ever tried in his life. Alternately, McCain will sit back and do nothing. Sorry, Israel, but you’re screwed.
