>>>$12 billion for border security and immigration enforcement, a 19 percent increase over what Congress appropriated for these programs in 2008. This money would go toward building a fence

The Alaska Pipeline is 800 miles long, took 3 years to build (plus two prior years for planning and 3,500 permits), and cost about $30 billion in 2006 adjusted dollars.

“$12 billion for border security and immigration enforcement” ain’t even close to doing the job.

Anyone seen any news footage on the “progress” of the fence in, say, the last six months or even the last year? Strange, the Pipeline was a regular news item back in its day.

And who exactly is “building” the fence? Seems like it would generate a big labor boom in the southwest. Anyone seeing that? Welders? Equipment operators? Truck drivers? Laborers? Anything?

First we have The Bridge To Nowhere. Now we have The Fence Built By No One.
