I am with you, Jeff. Sadly, JR, no can do. To me, Huckabee is just too dishonest. He lies about too many things when not lying would not have hurt him. Too much like another Dope from Hope. I cannot cast a vote for him. I will be voting for Romney to stop McCain.

A few too many “if’s” for me.

We are in a poor position this election. Don’t know if I can gamble on “maybe’s”.

That’s what I fear too.

Huckabee would jump at the chance at VP. Would put him in position for 2012. So, if he got the most delegates, they would be given to McCain for the VP position.

I’ll have to stick with Romney. Can’t trust Huckabee either.

I'm SO glad you posted this it brings other Huck supporters out of the woodwork, and makes it clear why they were so solidy disgustingly blasting Romney time and again... I just don't get this... Your site is awesome, but you are so wrong...

One question that I still have that others have also asked... why doesn't he ever attack McCain? Ever? Please... hope you reconsider...

Frankly, I'll stick with the opinions of Rush, Sean, and all of the other bona fide conservatives on this one

How do you overlook his immigration views, his slams on FDT (”he sounds like he needs kaopeptate”), his tax increases, his dumb folly with his ads in Iowa, his blasts at Bush’s Iraq policy? I can go on and on... Wow, are you wrong here

Read this GREAT post BUMP!

“”Jim, most of us are down to 3rd or 4th choices in this election cycle. The sad fact is that now there are NO strong or really good conservatives running. We are all being forced to choose from what is left over and so there is quite a bt of divergence.

I respect everyone’s right to make that choice as they see fit, as I know you do. I respect your creation of FR and the good it has done for our country. It is, the most conservative and all-American gathering place on the net. The vast majority of the people who come here and have stuck it out are good, patriotic and committed Americans.

At this point we all have to look at people’s records and their current positions and actions and choose the one we are most comfortable with out of a pack that does not have good conservative credentials. That means we have to assess the good and the bad of each candidate, compare them, and then come down on the candidate we feel will best maintain some symbolance of our values.

People all over the country are doing it...here on FR, in Maine, and in a bunch of places on Tuesday.

I have picked Romney now as my distant 3rd place candidate. I am not happy that I have been put in that position, but there it is. I believe he has the best chance to stop McCain in the GOP, and also the best chance against either Hillary or Obama in the general...either of which would even be much, much worse disasters than McCain.

I do not for an instant believe that Romney would be a disaster for America. I believe he would hold to his commitments and probably be a place holder and a maintainer of where we are now until the GOP comes up with a true conservative. He may also surprise us and be stronger than we expect.

Apparently a large number of FR members and lurkers agree. Apparently a large number of people in Maine agree. As you wisely said, those two (and all his other victories as well) may not make any difference in the end, but I am glad to see it anyway at this point before the big day on Tuesday. Either way, Romney has a huge mountain to climb between now and the convention.””

Thank you!
tatt

Do you see me pushing for a Huckabee win? I’m opposed to ALL three of the remaining RINOs including Huckabee. I’d love to see a deadlocked convention. If nothing more, it’d go far to make the party elites understand that the grassroots will not tolerate their love affair with RINOs. Reject them all.

That said, I probably should not have posted this thread or drawn any attention to it. We don’t have to do anything at all. It’s happening naturally. As long as Huckabee AND Romney stays in, all three RINOs (and the lone moonbat) will be rejected by the Republican primary voters. Not one of them is liked well enough to receive enough votes/delegates to win the nomination.

But, if either Huckabee OR Romney bows out, the whole shebang collapses and McCain waltzes in.

See you at the (deadlocked) convention.

Thanks for clarifying... I still disagree with you, but agree 90% of the time... After a short time-out, I’m glad to be back. Fantastic site, and God bless you Jim
