LOS ANGELES — The city that popularized the fast food drive-thru has a new innovation: 24-hour medical marijuana vending machines.
Patients suffering from chronic pain, loss of appetite and other ailments that marijuana is said to alleviate can get their pot with a dose of convenience at the Herbal Nutrition Center, where a large machine will dole out the drug around the clock.
"Convenient access, lower prices, safety, anonymity," inventor and owner Vincent Mehdizadeh said, extolling the benefits of the machine.
But federal drug agents say the invention may need unplugging.
"Somebody owns (it), it's on a property and somebody fills it," said DEA Special Agent Jose Martinez. "Once we find out where it's at, we'll look into it and see if they're violating laws."
At least three dispensaries in the city, including two belonging to Mehdizadeh, have installed vending machines to distribute the drug to people who carry cards authorizing marijuana use.

This vending machine is more likely to be stolen than an ATM.
Any way you slice it, an ounce per week is a CRAPLOAD of weed.

I’m not saying it’s right, just that this is the way it is.
If there is a Federal law the X is illegal, and the state says X is legal, you are still violating the Federal law. California cant arrest someone in Florida for doing something in Florida, but the Feds can and will go after a law breaker in any state they are in.
So, if you think there is a passage in the Constitution that says this is not so, please quote it.

Legally, that is simply not true. The Constitution states clearly that anything not covered in the Bill of Rights is up to the states. Now we both know that for practical purposes, the feds will push the states around and enforce pretty much whatever the heck they want to enforce. But that doesn't make it legal. Effectively, the 10th Amendment died a long time ago, only that it's never been repealed. It's still in there.
