A .22 is a great weapon for accuracy as the shot between the eyes show. I'd suggest he use a magnum cylinder next time with copper hollow points. They won't bounce off.
But, seriously, kudos to the old guy for a well placed and accurate shot. Most of us couldn't do that well under stress.
