Oh I bet the phone lines between Romney and Fred have been busy. Romney was the only one to commend Fred after he dropped out. I bet McCain has also been calling Thompson... which is why I seriously want Fred to accept and offer from Romney. Fred blowing off McCain would be a HUGE sign to conservatives.

Agreed. Fred being silent, especially when it comes to McCain, is far more telling than if he were to endorse Romney, IMHO. I’d love to see Fred say, ‘I can’t endorse anyone as I don’t have a horse in this race.’

Fred's silence is quite telling.I believe the reason for Fred's silence is simple: He sees no one left he is willing to support until they have the nomination. If the reports that he originally sought to be VP and not President are true, he would also poison the well if his endorsee does not win.
