It's All Over

Assuming there is no shocking revelation or health issue, the GOP nomination is over. Conservatives need to start practicing the phrase "Nominee presumptive John McCa....."

Sorry, I can't say it. Not yet.

But it's true. When the campaign comes here to Massachusetts on February 5th, I'll proudly cast my vote for any option on the GOP ballot other than You-Know-Who. But it will be a futile gesture. Mr. "1/3rd Of The GOP Primary Vote" is going to be the nominee.

He's going to win the big, left-leaning states on Tuesday. Huckabee will stay in and deny Romney a one-on-one contest for GOP voters that Captain Amnesty would almost certainly lose. The result: More wins for He Who Must Not Be Named, and fewer wins for Romney—regardless of delegate count. Florida has launched the one ship that Romney's money and Rush Limbaugh cannot stop: The U.S.S. Inevitable. It's gonna happen. Even if there were a realistic pathway to stop him, the media have seized control of the process now and are declaring him inevitable. He is, after all, the favorite son of the New York Times.

So it is over. Finished. In November, we'll be sending out our most liberal, least trustworthy candidate vs. to take on Hillary Clinton—perhaps not more liberal than Barack Obama, but certainly far less trustworthy. And the worst part for the Right is that McCain will have won the nomination while ignoring, insulting and, as of this weekend, shamelessly lying about conservatives and conservatism.

You think he supported amnesty six months ago? You think he was squishy on tax cuts and judicial nominees before? Wait until he has the power to anger every conservative in America, and feel good about it.

Every day, he dreams of a world filled with happy Democrats and insulted Republicans.

I'm holding out hope for Romney, on Super Tuesday.

“I’m holding out hope for Romney, on Super Tuesday.

I wish I was as optimistic. If Romney can’t win in NH, SC, or FL what makes you think he’ll win in CA, NY, NJ, CT, IL, etc. I’m afraid we’re doomed.

It ain’t gonna make a bit of difference who you vote for. Have you looked at how many posters have voted in the free republic polls? 3000 tops! We here at FR won’t make any difference. GLTA

also remember Who is in charge of the big picture.

I remember alright, and that's why I don't have any hope for the US after this next election.

A nation and it's people can only spit in His eye so may times before He gives it what it's asking for, a place on history's list of once great nations and empires which rejected Him and His laws and are now gone and almost forgotten.

Did anyone who believes in a just and righteous God actually believe that He would simply excuse the American people with a wink and a nod as though He were a doting Grandpa and we were just naughty children? After murdering 50 million unborn babies without remorse and celebrating sodomy as a virtue what did we expect, a divine commendation?

“She said she can’t understand how people would vote for a guy in a cult.”

That’s the thinking that baffles me. This isn’t an election for theologian-in-chief. I have no doubt that Jimmy Carter is a Christian, but he was also a terrible President. I’m a born again Christian and I’m voting for Romney because of where he stands on the issues, his business background, and his record in Massachusetts.

God can use anyone to do the right thing for the country, as we have seen throughout history. Besides, God isn’t through with Romney yet.

“It is NOT over yet! We all need to unite behind Romney on the local and State level. Let’s fight!”

Amen!

You do have a point, but there were other candidates running. I refuse to believe that the illegal immigration issue is not still a major concern with many voters.

I for one, am not ready to throw in the towel. The message about McCain needs to get out!

But it's true

No, it's not, Mikey. Good heavens, Romney was ahead of McCain in delegates until last night, and it wouldn't be at all difficult for him to move ahead.

Mikey needs to get a clue.

If John McCain is the nominee, prepare for eight more years of Clinton because we are going to lose in a landslide. It’s Bob Dole all over again.

IMO, the way to “send a message” at this point is to campaign all out for Romney, the outsider, the mainstream conservative that the establishment Republican candidates are aligning against. It couldn’t be more clear; Romney is our big chance to save the GOP. He has the best immigration record, has become pro-life, has an outstanding judicial advisory team, knows how to cut the D.C. bureaucracy, will not tolerate spending and understands the supreme importance of the War on Jihad Terror.

All is NOT lost, not over. The opportunity is in front of us NOW to nominate and elect Mitt Romney.

But we must try anyway. We have too much to lose.

We have the prospect of BILL CLINTON BACK IN THE WHITE WITH "NOTHING TO DO."

McCain has already lost the conservative base in my humble opinion. If he is on the ticket I will not vote for him or any other person. Alot of conservatives will just stay home.

I’m with you...except I will go and vote for CONSERVATIVE Congressman, if there are any on the ballot. I will also vote a third party candidate as a protest vote.

Shenanigans!..By “coalition” you mean guaranteeing a Illegal block vote for the DNC for 1000 years! There is no way in Hell the RINOs were ever gonna get the Illegal vote.On entitlements and pandering, the Repub.s will always be outmaneuvered. The GOP leadership was always left of its base.Bush was the “fixer” when he declared for”compassionate conservatism”, that should have been the tip off what his goals were then. You can get maneuvered into a corner, and the RINOs have done it to us.The leadership of the party made the call by going left and ignoring the base, by striving to build coalitions, of compromise..

If Romney keeps up the good fight, He will deny McCain the delegates needed on 1st ballot. There is nothing I would enjoy than seeing a brokered convention and McCain not emerging as the eventual nominee.

The convention delegates can even nominate someone not participating in the primaries.
