Nearly half a million Brazilians were murdered in the past decade but the homicide rate is gradually falling ...
In the 10 years from 1996 to 2006, around 465,000 people were murdered, according to a study published by two aid groups and the federal government. The vast majority were shot.
Gang-related violence routinely shakes Brazil's major cities, temporarily shutting down neighborhoods and killing innocent bystanders.
the number of homicides in 2006 fell for the third consecutive year to 46,660 from a peak of 50,980 in 2003...

Maybe MCCain can bring them here
“little goil.”
How many is in a “brazilian”?
That’s an average of 127 per day, 3875 every month.
What is the average in DC ?
Adjusted for population.
So Brazil’s murder rate has been about 3X that of the U.S. for the past 10 years. Don’t feel left out, though. Brazil is pretty much what the U.S. will look like in about 10-15 years.
Nearly half a million Brazilians were murdered in the past decade but the homicide rate is gradually falling. The Paradox of Zeno at work. Uh-oh, I should have checked before posting, that observation may be a duplicate.
LOL!
The Mayor of DC’s answer is, sure, Brazil leads us in per capita murder, but we whip their ass on other violent crime. Buncha putos.
My math maybe off :
As the population of the city was just over 600,000 at that time, this meant that the District’s homicide rate was 81 per 100,000 inhabitants
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Washington,_D.C.
But LATE-1990s...Brazil 32.5 PER 100,000
Washington, D.C., USA 69.3 MURDERS PER 100,000

And when I say "attractive" I mean "really, really hot". They looked Portugese or Spanish or somthin'.
I saw a printed advertisement hyping the movie. Supposedly new 3D innovations. What did you think of the 3D and the performance itself?
Reminds me of the great movie “City of God”
you didn’t have that “look,” either.
...firearms must be registered. No handguns with ammunition more powerful than .38 Special. Rifles and carbines are only allowed if they fire handgun ammunition... No center fire semi-automatic long gun (rifled or smooth bore) is permitted... A Brazilian citizen must not have, at any given time, more than two handguns, two rifled long guns and two shotguns. Citizens are not allowed to buy more than one gun per year. If one is caught with a gun without a permit, it is a crime and one can face two years in jail for that (four years if it was a forbidden gun). Permits for transportation must be obtained at the central police office downtown and it usually takes a week to be ready. Officially carry permits do exist, but is very difficult to get one (there is a black market for concealed carry licenses). Gun stores are not allowed to sell second hand firearms and taxes on guns sales are the highest in the world (81%). Brazil is one of the few places in the world where one can buy an illegal handgun cheaper than in gun stores (about one third of the price for a Brazilian made revolver). In the neighboring countries there are gangs specialized in smuggling guns through Brazilian borders. Brazilian drug gang members carry AR15, M16, SIG 551, HKG3 and AK47 - they have no problems in getting these weapons...These above mentioned (very strict) laws were changed in 2003. They apparently weren't working well, so they were eliminated and there are tighter laws. Now, permits will be issued only to police, security guards and others in high-risk professions - but they must be at least 25 years old. Anyone else caught carrying a firearm will face up to four years in prison.
Well, I hate Bono now, so it hurt to shell out $13.50 X 2, But the concert itself was good, I recognized all but 2 songs; the band put on a good show.
Cinamatography was excellent, lots of cameras on booms moving over the crowd.
The 3D aspect was good to very good, but the screen was fuzzy and made us all "pukey" when we viewed it without the glasses. (The pre-concert cocktails may have had some influence on that.) Also, if you turned your head sideways the 3D effect was lost and the screen went fuzzy.
Since I must wear glasses, one concern was the that 3D glasses fit over them. Mine did, but female celebrities with their big dumb sunglasses would be deeply saddened.
As an aside, there is a recent South Park that mocks Bono, so as we were exiting the theater me and my fian-say kept doing Bono's "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" and "'Allo 'allo !" thing that he does in the episode. That irritated the true believers!
Hispanic, meaning from Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, or Spain can be incredibly attractive.
