If he had appointed all Republican none would have been confirmed. None of the great things he did would have occurred. In MA you must work with Democrats and appoint some judges in their party. You just find their DINO’s and appoint them. Or trade a judge for something else worth having. That is Politics.
By all honest measures he was a great Governor.
By the way some of Regan’s judges were the worst ever. No indication in this article that even one of the judges was weak on crime or civil cases. Jury’s have and should have democrat on them and do a great job for the most part except in D.C. and when celebrities are involved.
He didn't even try! Is that what your promising for us to look forward to? If Romney gets elected, look forward to more Ruth Bader Ginsburg's because Conservatives would not have a chance at being confirmed?
At least Reagan tried Bork for the SCOTUS, then a different Ginsburg who had to withdraw because he smoked pot, and then that disaster Kennedy - who pretended to be a Conservative until he got on the court.
Sandra Day O'Connor was a disaster because she wanted to be one.
Reagan nominated scores and scores of great judges to the Federal bench. His legacy for that lives on even today.
Romney could have at least said what you said to defend himself - to wit - 'Sure, I acted as a liberal in Massachusetts so I could get elected.'
Instead, he has misrepresented the truth about his flip flops on abortion, gun control, and other issues. Then, he expected us to believe him!
Well, it looks like he might be out of it now anyway. There are still no Conservatives in the race for the GOP.
